When your pet is sick or injured, it is likely you look for an animal hospital in Charlotte to make sure that they are going to be okay. But seeing a vet in Charlotte isn't just for sick and injured pets. It is an important part of your pet's health maintenance that assures that they live a healthy and enjoyable life.
Wellness exams are important because it allows for vets to check for early signs of disease or injury that a pet owner might not recognize on their own. Pet health issues, like human health issues, are often easier, and less expensive to treat when they are discovered in the early stages.
Wellness exams also offer an educational opportunity for pet parents as well. Depending on your pet's breed, they may be predisposed to different health issues or may have different ways of "telling" their owners that they are uncomfortable or in pain. During a pet wellness exam, your veterinarian in Charlotte can answer questions and let you know what signs to look for to keep your pet as healthy as possible.
In many ways, pet check-ups are not much different than human ones. And Dr. Trish Johnson, our vet in Charlotte is sensitive to the fact that both pets and their owners can be a little uncomfortable during a wellness exam.
During the visit, she'll check your pet's vital signs, such as their heart rate and breathing, and check to make sure there are no abnormal lumps or bumps that may need further investigation. She may also run blood tests, or perform a urinalysis looking for signs of parasites or infection. Frequently, pet exams in Charlotte are timed to coincide with when your pet is due for their required vaccination or heartworm prevention treatment.

I have used Dr Johnson ever since she opened this office and my pets love her to death. She is very caring and does not rush you and always answers your questions in layman's terms. She loves her work along with her associates.
