What Happens During a Pet Wellness Exam?

While pet exams in Charlotte can vary depending on specific health concerns for your pet, there are several common components and things that are looked into during most pet check-ups. Most pets should get a wellness exam at least yearly, and sometimes more often if they are very young, are senior pets, or have specific health concerns.

During an exam, your vet may check your pet's vital signs and reflexes, weight, and may check for parasites and perform blood tests and urinalysis. She also performs a head to tail examination that will identify any lumps or growths that might be cause for concern or signs of dental disease. She may ask you questions about your pet's behavior and if you have noticed any recent changes. In many cases, wellness exams are performed concurrently when your pet is due for their required vaccinations.
