Wellness Care & Vaccinations at
Our Animal Hospital in Charlotte

Wellness Care:

Wellness care is the key to keeping your pet happy, healthy and ready to enjoy life with you! Some of the most common ailments in pets are easy to prevent, but difficult to treat. At CCVH of Charlotte, our ultimate goal is a lifetime of health for your pet which begins with excellent and consistent preventative care.

Wellness starts with a yearly examination for adult animals and twice yearly exams for senior pets. Before your exam, our team will talk to you, the pet parent, to understand your goals for your pet's lifestyle, any changes you may have noticed, and any concerns. Then, we will go over an estimate of the preventative care that your pet is due for and work with you to tailor the visit that best fits your budget.  Next, our veterinarians perform a complete head to toe exam to ensure your pet is healthy and feeling great. Your veterinarian will then discuss any changes with the exam, nutritional recommendations, and address any questions or concerns you may have in regards to your companions care.

Vaccines:

Vaccines are also an important part of preventative care. Some vaccines are considered “core”, meaning they are recommended for all animals and should always be kept up-to-date. Other vaccines may be needed to fully protect your pet based on their age and lifestyle. Your veterinarian will create a vaccine protocol individualized to your pets needs based on their specific risks.

Heartworm and Flea/Tick Prevention:

Heartworm and flea/tick prevention is an essential part of preventative care. Heartwom disease and other serious diseases spread by mosquitos, fleas, and ticks are common in the Charlotte area, and because of this, we advise the use of year-round use of monthly preventatives. We will discuss with you the best options for your pet, and answer any questions that you may have at the time of your pets visit!

Testimonial

I have used Dr Johnson ever since she opened this office and my pets love her to death. She is very caring and does not rush you and always answers your questions in layman's terms. She loves her work along with her associates.
