Practice Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Trish Johnson is the proud owner of Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital of Charlotte. Her love of animals has existed since childhood which ultimately led to her decision to become a veterinarian. She grew up in Oswego, NY and has been working with animals and the veterinary profession since 1995. Dr. Johnson graduated from Oswego Stat e University with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. She then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.
After graduation, she began her career in a large mixed animal emergency practice in upstate NY working with cats, dogs, cows, horses, goats, and pocket pets. In April, 2005, she joined Help The Cats, a charitable organization that provides spay & neuter services for feral cats based out of Perry, New York. Dr. Johnson’s journey then brought her and her family to the Charlotte area in 2007 where she has worked as a companion animal veterinarian ever since.
Dr. Johnson enjoys the challenges involved in practicing medicine and finds joy in educating and interacting with her clients. By helping clients understand different aspects of medicine, she feels that their animals’ lives will improve greatly. She enjoys internal medicine, surgery, client education, and has a passion for veterinary medicine and the animals with which she works.
On a personal note, Dr. Johnson and her husband have four beautiful children (two boys and twin girls). The menagerie of fur-kids include: three energetic dogs (Buddy, Leupold and Rosie), two sassy cats (Mojo and Leela), a horse that truly believes he is a dog (Shiloh), and a flock of chickens that keep them very busy. She enjoys running, hiking, playing with her fish tanks, reading, and spending time with her family.
